Quartetto Nero's debut album with music by Polish romantic composers.
"Moniuszko & Kurpiński" CD
The debut album of Quartetto Nero is an opportunity to get acquainted with works for a string quartet by Stanisław Moniuszko and Karol Kurpiński in their original sound, different from the current of contemporary performance tradition. These works were recorded for the first time using historical instruments with gut strings and copies of strings from the first half of the 19th century - i.e. the instruments used at the time when these works were written. Combined with the interpretation consistent with the source knowledge of the performance practices used at the time, it allowed us to get as close as possible to the authentic sound of these works and the original intentions of their composers.
